Our Story
We are serious about brewing
In the town of the well-known art deco culture and historic buildings we are mixing craft beer with history. Hawke’s Bay’s newest tap bar located in one of Napier’s art deco buildings caters to every craft lover’s taste buds not to mention if you’re a sucker for a wee espresso martini or distilled gin, Good George makes it ALL.
So, come on in and get amongst the good times, good vibes, good food and GOOD GEORGE brews. P.S, You can take some away with you to keep you hydrated for your next mission or undertaking (we won’t tell if you don’t).
Good George came to life when a bunch of friends got together after years in hospitality and brewing and decided it was time to create their own craft beers. After finding a home in the old St George’s Church in Frankton, Hamilton, the venue gave the brewery it’s name.
Their belief is that beer can be so much better and more rewarding. It shouldn’t be bland, full of chemicals, mass produced and boring. Nor should it be hard, pretentious or scary. Exploring and drinking beer should be simple, enjoyable and really rewarding. We hope you have a bloody good time doing it.
